Anton Igorevich Zaslavsky (born September 2, 1989 in Saratov) is a German DJ and music producer of Russian origin, known by the stage name Zedd. Zedd is the winner of the Grammy Music Award in 2014 for the nomination “Best Dance Record” for the song “Clarity”, which was performed together with the British singer Foxes. In 2014, Forbes earned eighth place in the top 10 highest paid DJs in the world with $ 21 million in income.

Early life

Anton Zaslavsky was born in Saratov into a family of musicians and received a classical musical education, which began with studying music in the piano class at the age of four. At the age of three, Anton and his family moved as refugees of Jewish nationality to the German city of Kaiserslautern, where he spent his childhood and youth.

He started playing drums at the age of twelve. Together with his brother Arkady, he became a member of the rock band Dioramic, founded in Kaiserslautern in 2002. Seven years later, he developed an interest in electronic music after hearing the album by the French electro punk duo Justice. In 2009 Anton Zaslavsky started writing electronic music himself.

Career

In 2011 Anton Zaslavsky released the single “Dovregubben”, which he wrote in the style of the electro house. This composition immediately rose to the top of the music charts. Career highlights

Zedd was tapped by National Geographic to produce a song inspired by the documentary series One Strange Rock, and released a video titled “One Strange Rock” on his YouTube channel on April 9, 2018. On July 17, 2018, Zedd released his single with Elley Duhé, “Happy Now”. The accompanying music video was later released August 23, 2018.

On September 27, 2018, Zedd released his remix of the Shawn Mendes single “Lost in Japan”. This single quickly rose to the top 40 charts and was the first collaboration between the two artists.
