Early life

Usher Raymond IV was born in southern Texas, United States. However, Usher spent most of his childhood in the state of Tennessee. His father Usher Raymond III. left the family when Usher was just one year old. He grew up with his mother, stepfather and half-brother. Usher showed great interest in music early on: at the age of nine he sang in the choir of the local church community. His grandmother quickly noticed her grandson’s talent. In 1997 his second album “My Way” was released. Two years later, Usher released a live album that was awarded gold in the United States. His record “8701” (2001), his fourth album “Confessions” (2004) and “Here I stand” (2008) were also crowned with great success. In 2010 Usher’s sixth album “Raymond vs. Raymond ”, six single releases made it into the top 40 single charts in the United States. The record “Looking 4 Myself”, Usher’s seventh album, was also a number one success. In addition to music, he also devoted himself to acting. In 1998 Usher made his debut in the sitcom “Moesha”.
