Short introduction
Timo Glock is a German DTM and former Formula 1 driver. In addition to his career as a DTM driver, he can be seen at RTL as a Formula 1 expert. He has a son and a daughter and has been living with his girlfriend in Gottlieben in the Swiss canton of Thurgau since March 2012.
Early life
Timo Glock was born on March 18th, 1982 in Lindenfels in the Odenwald, however he grew up in Wersau near Darmstadt. He is a trained scaffolding engineer. His father is a scaffolding entrepreneur. In 1997 Timo Glock bought his first kart. At the German Junior Kart Cup, he noticed that he had talent for it and has intensively dealt with this hobby.
From 1998 to 2000 he had his first racing experience at the DMV state and federal championships and developed ambition for more.
Career
Timo Glock started his career in 1996 at the age of 14 on motocross. The following year he switched to karting. He won his first championship title in the Formula BMW ADAC Junior Cup in 2000.
In 2001 he was rookie of the year at Deutsche Formel BMW. The following year, he switched to the Formula 3 Euro series.
In 2004 he drove for the first time in Formula 1. There he drove four races for Jordan. Since there was no regular cockpit in Formula 1, he switched to the Champ Car World Series in North America. There he became the best newcomer. In 2006 he returned to Europe and drove in the GP2 series. In 2007 he became champion in the GP2 series and at the same time test driver in Formula 1 for the BMW Sauber team. A year later, he became a regular driver in Formula 1 for the Panasonic Toyota Racing Team. At the end of the season, he finished tenth in the drivers’ championship. He also drove for the Panasonic Toyota Racing Team in 2009, where he took two podiums and had to end the season prematurely due to an injury. From 2010 to 2012 he was a regular driver for Marussia-Virgin. In 2010 he finished 23rd overall after some technical difficulties. It ranked 25th in 2011 and 20th in 2012. The contract was terminated prematurely and by mutual agreement at the beginning of 2013 due to economic circumstances.
Timo Glock has been driving in the DTM since 2013, where he signed a contract with BMW. He drove for the MTEK team for three years. At the last race of the season, he took his first win. He ended the season in ninth place. The next season he finished 16th. His last season at MTEK ended in 15th place.
Since the 2016 season he has been part of the BMW squad for the Reinhold Motorsport team, where he finished 10th, 7th, 5th and 12th.

Timo Glock was champion at the GP2 in 2007.
In 2008 he celebrated his greatest success in Formula 1 with a second place in Hungary. This year he reached 10th place in the overall ranking.
His best overall ranking at the DTM was 5th in 2018.
