If the public dissemination of false public interest information entailed by negligence the infliction of harm to human health, then the act faces a fine of 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles, compulsory work for up to 3 years or imprisonment up to 3 years.

If this act entailed by negligence human death or other grave consequences, the punishment threatened in the form of a penalty from 1,5 to 2 million rubles, compulsory works for a term up to 5 years or imprisonment for up to 5 years.
