Russian Prosecutor General’s office appealed to the Second appellate court of General jurisdiction with the request for a reduction in sentence to Konstantin Kotov, who was convicted under the article about repeated violations at rallies. About it reports Agency “Moscow” referring to lawyer Maria Eismont.
“the Prosecutor General’s office asking to reduce the sentence to my client with four years of imprisonment up to one year,” she said.
it is Noted that the appeal submission has already been received in the Second appeal court of General jurisdiction, it will consider in the near future.
Earlier, the constitutional court is instructed to revise the sentence to Konstantin Kotov. According to investigators, on 10 August he took part in illegal mass event in Central Moscow, and ignored requirements of employees of the police, after which he was arrested.
against Kotova was filed under “Repeated violation of the established procedure of organizing or holding meetings, rallies, demonstrations, marches or picketing”.
September 5, the Tverskoy district court sentenced Kotova to four years in prison for violating the rules of holding rallies.
