the national Team of Russia on football can take part in the 2024 world Cup in a neutral status. About it reports Agency “Moscow” referring to the press service of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA).
“According to the recommendations of the Committee on compliance of the Russian athletes and their support staff will be able to participate in international competitions of the four-year period, only on a neutral basis, and if you can demonstrate that is in no way associated with non-compliance (rules – approx. ed.)”, – told the press service.
in this WADA said that a final decision on this matter will be made court of arbitration for Sports (CAS).
“In accordance with the recommendations of consequences come into force on the day when the decision on the compliance with the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA) becomes final. So they will come into force on the date when the CAS will render its final decision”, – said the press service.
In December, 2019 the Executive Committee of WADA decided to disqualify Russian athletes from participation in major international competitions for four years. In WADA added that according to this decision, the football world Cup in 2024 included a list of events that fall in this four-year period.
Earlier Arabic edition of BeIN Sports, citing its own sources reported that WADA has informed Russia of the impossibility of participating in the 2024 world Cup to be held in Qatar. FIFA did not confirm this information.
