History 11/03/20 the Death of Sergei Yesenin: what were the questions
28 Dec 1925 became of Sergei Yesenin. For almost a century the care of the poet is haunted by the historians, researchers and fans of his work.
Protocol violations
Many of the charges made to the district superintendent of the 2nd Department of militia Nikolay Gorbova. the Lack of hotel check
Not found any document confirming that Yesenin lived in the hotel “Angleterre” in December 1925. Yes, and it is not clear why the poet had to stay in it if he could stay with his close friends. Probably the reason why I never lived in the “Angleterre”. Then the version that he was killed elsewhere, and after that played the story of the suicide in a hotel room, looks more convincing.
Incomplete examination

But for some reason, this act didn’t include all the damage that existed on the face of the poet. This is confirmed by a photo of Yesenin, preserved in the National public library in St. Petersburg a special Department. This photograph clearly visible bullet hole in the forehead of the poet and of Welt under his right eye. The blow could be inflicted on the pistol grip, which, incidentally, had the poet.
Quandary
Then the question arises: why hang up Yesenin? Would it not be easier to shoot him, to make it look like a suicide? Many historians are inclined to believe that the murder of the poet approved personally by Trotsky. And the work was entrusted to the famous revolutionary Yakov Blumkin, who was in a difficult position during the murder, so he had to play the option of hanging.
Why the hanging?

According to him, in 1925, he served in the OGPU with Blumkin. Once blumkin received orders from Trotsky to adequately punish physically Yesenin.
