At VOX there will be the fourth episode of “Sing My Song – The Exchange Concert” from 8:15 pm tonight, focusing on the songs by rapper MoTrip.

Michael Patrick Kelly chose one of the rapper’s most personal songs. “Embryo” is about the decision to have an abortion that MoTrip and his wife made years ago.

“Farewell, in love – your child”

With his new interpretation, Michael Patrick Kelly not only moves the rapper himself, but also Max Giesinger and Nico Santos to tears.

“It was the least I could do to write this song to the child who didn’t have a name yet, and I know from Lairssa [MoTrip’s wife] that it was important for her to process it,” says the rapper in an emotional conversation before Michael Patrick Kelly’s appearance.

Excerpt from the 1st stanza of the lyrics of “Embryo”:

“Hello mom, hello dad, you fathered me.
I’m listening. You speak Arabic and a little German.
I was already there, but your plan was about you.
You experienced it at some point, but you weren’t happy.
What should it look like when the sun breaks through the clouds?
I just wanted to see the light of day, but I shouldn’t.
Look up I fly with the wind
Farewell, in love – your child. ”

This cover version gives you goose bumps and lots of questions. This is how MoTrip sees the number as therapeutic:

“I thought: ‘Well, you have to deal with it. The way through fear and through pain is through fear and through pain. ‘ It was very helpful for me and my family to have this text. ”Art can hurt and“ in some cases art has to hurt, ”explains the rapper.

“I often go to the gym and there I destroy my muscles, and when they heal they grow. Muscle growth is actually only when you break it and the scar that is created is actually growth. And I think I took this step a step further today as far as my soul is concerned. It was torn into it once, maybe to go out here stronger. ”
