Short introduction

The real name “Unge” is Simon Wiefels. Simon has been very successful with his videos on You-Tube for almost 9 years, because he regularly publishes let’s plays, vlogs and livestreams.

He gained greater popularity primarily through Let´s Plays for the game Minecraft, for some time now he has been commenting on the videos of other you-tube channels in live streams and then uploading compilations of them.

With his channel he has already reached more than 3 million subscribers, which he has not been active since December 2014. His channel was promoted and operated by the “Mediakraft” network, he had been under contract with Mediakraft for years, but ultimately quarreled with the network. Because of this, he opened his new channel “unhealthy”, met with a great response with his new channel and was able to very successfully continue his work as a You-Tuber. Since his contract with Mediakraft has now expired, he has now reactivated his channel “unplayed”.

Early life

Simon was born in Erkelenz near Mönchengladbach, he grew up with his siblings with his mother. His father died very early when Simon was only nine years old. After completing his schooling, he began training as an educator, which he successfully completed in 2013.

As a result of his successful You-Tube career, he moved to Cologne in 2014. At the beginning, Unge shared the apartment with other You-Tube colleagues, which resulted in a temporary flat share.

Career

His career went uphill fairly quickly, with a total of over a billion video views. From his uploaded videos you can see that he is one of the hardest working influencers. Because with over 3000 videos published, he is certainly one of the You-Tubers with the most uploaded videos.

At the beginning of his career, he still wore dreadlocks in his initial videos, but now he’s wearing short hair. His videos quickly got high clicks, especially his let’s plays in the Minecraft scene.

He also likes to make live streams via Twitch and thus uses two platforms for his streams. As a result, he opened other channels on You-Tube, such as the “unclicked” or “portrait” channel.

Career highlights

There are some highlights in his career, including his longboard tour with his You-Tube friends Dner and Julien Bam. On this tour they drove around 1,400 kilometers on a longboard from Sylt via Kiel, through other cities such as Hamburg and Magdeburg, to Füssen to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle.

During this tour they were accompanied by the Stern TV team, after which Unge was a guest on the show.

Another highlight was the world tour announced for 2015, which started in April 2015 in Los Angeles. He stayed there for a good two months with a short break in Costa Rica. His viewers were able to have a say in the travel route using the Supz app. During this trip he had changing companions with him, there were always interruptions during the trip, since in the meantime other projects were also being worked on.

Amazing facts

Simon is considered to be very sociable, that’s why he seems to be so popular with his fans and You-Tube colleagues.

He decided to emigrate to Madeira (Portuguese island) at the end of 2018, since then he has lived in the capital Funchal.

Before working as an educator, he also came into contact with mentally handicapped people because he worked for such an institution.

Years later, when he was a You-Tuber, he used the word “disabled” in one of his tweets to refer to an insult. Thereupon he was sharply criticized by an activist, he immediately deleted the message and apologized to the said activist.

Simon has been without animal products for several years, and he likes to talk about this in his videos and streams.

His favorite color is green, which is often reflected in his life and can often be seen in his videos.

After a somewhat longer break in the relationship, he is back with his girlfriend Caty, who has also been running a you-tube channel called “CatyCake” for a long time.

He always draws attention to himself with new campaigns, so he recently planned a 30-day live stream.

In 2015, he flew into the rainforest with DeChangeman to work together for the WWF and the VivaAmazonia campaign. The aim of this campaign was to prevent worrying bills by which the government wanted to release conservation areas for exploitation.
