the Scientists of the Central research Institute of epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor has created a high-precision test for the diagnosis of coronavirus COVID-19. About it reports a press-service of the Ministry.
“Diagnostic kit successfully passed the clinical trials and March 25 was developed for use in the Russian Federation (the Registration certificate for medical device No. RZN 2014/1987),” – said the press service.
Specifies that the new test is capable of one study not only to identify SARS-CoV-2, but to distinguish it from similar viruses such as MERS-Cov (middle East respiratory syndrome). This set meets all modern requirements for sensitivity and specificity.
Rospotrebnadzor said that this development can be considered as another effective tool in the fight against the pandemic. The new test would allow for mass screening of people for early detection of cases. Also, experts will be able to identify infections with the disease are asymptomatic.
Earlier it was reported that scientists of the RAS develop three vaccines against coronavirus. It was reported that the project drew the attention of the Ministry of health.
