the Group of sappers of the International mine action centre of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation successfully completed the task of humanitarian demining of the territory of the Lao people’s Democratic Republic and returned home. In operation from October 2019 to March 2024 the Russian engineers together with the Lao colleagues and I have completed mine clearance of the aerodrome “Donghaixi” in the province of Xiengkhouang. At the end of surgery, the experts managed to detect and neutralize explosive devices 830, including aviation American bombs during the Vietnam war. Russian engineers also successfully trained 20 Lao soldiers who will continue the demining of the territory of their country.
