With “Schach Matt”, another single from his third studio album, he achieved another commercial success. The Singe stayed in the charts for a total of 11 weeks. In 1980 Roland Kaiser took part in the German preliminary round of the Grand Prix Eurovision. However, he only reached twelfth place here. Since then his career has been going uphill.

In May 1980 he released his most successful single “Santa Maria”. The song was number one on the German single charts for 5 weeks. The title developed into an absolute super hit in Germany. To date, over 1.2 million singles have been sold. The title also became a No. 1 hit in Belgium and the Netherlands. The single was awarded gold twice in all countries.

Other great hits by the artist include the following singles: “Midnight Lady”, “To love you”, “Joana”, “I think it will start again” and “Love me one last time”.

Of course, this is just a small selection of Roland Kaiser’s oeuvre. Kaiser has become an integral part of the German music world.
