Early life
Born on January 12, 1959 in Recklinghausen, Germany, Ralf Möller was drawn to sports early on. At the age of 7 he became an enthusiastic swimmer, became a swimming master, then a swimming instructor. After 2 years of boxing, he devoted himself to bodybuilding and a steep career began. During military service in Wuppertal and Leverkusen, he also completed a few training sessions in the disciplines of discus throwing and shot put under Peter Ogiolda before concentrating fully on bodybuilding.
Career
After a few years of training, Ralf Möller was named German Bodybuilding Champion in 1984, 2 years later he was named “Mr. Universe ”, the culmination of his sports career.
He achieved his current level of awareness primarily through his acting activities in the context of numerous national and international series, films and documentaries. He gained his first experience by rolling in the “crime scene” in 1988. Together with Götz George and Eberhard Feik, he played “Broken Flowers” in the crime scene episode. When his talent was recognized, he also got bigger roles. After participating in “Cyborg” in 1989 and “Universal Soldier” in 1992, he was able to prove his skills as a villain in “Best of the Best 2 – The Invincible”. In addition to the previously mentioned films, he starred in “The Viking Sagas” in 1995 and the TV series “Conan” (1997-1998). When he was cast as “Hagen” alongside Russel Crowe for the film “Gladiator”, nothing seemed to stand in the way of a successful acting career. The subsequent role as “Thorak” in the film “Scorpion King” from 2002 caused a stir not only in the US film industry. In his home country of Germany, he had long been a celebrity and was only called “The Gladiator” in the media.
Möller’s acting career continued in the film “El Pardino”, in which he played the role of Special Agent Kurt Mayers. In 2005 he had a role as Bruno alongside Rosanna Arquette in “My Suicidal Sweetheart”. In the film “Beerfest” Moeller played the role of Hammacher. In the same year he appeared in the film “Ozzie”. He also played the role of overseer Arnold Calgrove in the film “Seed”, which received an award for the best special effects at the horror film festival in New York in 2007. 2007 followed “Pathfinder” and in “Postal” Ralf Moeller played the role of Officer John. In the following years he acted in “Alone in the Dark II” and “Dejection” before getting roles in “The Sword and the Sorcerer II”, “Tales of an Ancient Heart” and “The Tourist” in 2010. “The Tourist” received the ASCAP Award for the best cinema film. Contributors included Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. He also received the Teen Choice Award for the best action role. In 2014 Ralf Möller appeared in “Love, Hate & Security”. He is still active and successful in the film scene today.
