Short introduction
Raf Camora, middle-class Raphael Ragucci, is an Austrian musician and producer who started making music in his early childhood.
Since the rapper was born in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, but moved to the Austrian capital Vienna at the age of 6, he has both German and French texts. In addition to the versatility of languages, the artist’s career also has a large number of groups and names.
However, Raf Camora celebrated his great success in German-speaking countries with solo hits such as Without my team and palm trees made of plastic.
Early life
Raf Camora was born in Switzerland to an Austrian and an Italian. At the age of 6, his family moved to Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, the 15th district in Vienna, where he grew up and mastered the school despite a few stumbling blocks.
He started rapping in his early teens. At 14 he was already producing beats and writing lyrics. At that time these were still in French. A year later, the 15-year-old ran away from home and at the same time founded his first rap group with a friend. Together they wrote their songs in German. The group did not last long, however, and split up again after a year and a half after causing quite a stir in the Austrian rap scene.
Back at home and back at school at 17, Raf Camora became a member of a French rap group and distanced himself from the German hip-hop scene.
Shortly thereafter, Raf met the rapper Joshi Mizu, with whom he founded two rap groups with various other members. The majority of these groups, Family Bizz, became known in Austria by participating in the Ö3 sound check and a song for the Life Ball. The group disbanded in 2006. That same year, Raf Camora’s street album Scandal, which he recorded and produced with Emirez, was released.
Career
From the release of the album Scandal, Raf Camora was in demand both as a musician and as a producer. He produced and featured for several German artists.
His first solo project was the street album therapy before the album, which was released in 2008 and served as a bridge to Raf Camora’s first solo album, which was released on November 13, 2009.
This was followed in March 2010 by the album Artkore, which was created in collaboration with Nazar.
In early 2011, Raf Camora announced that his musical direction had changed and that from now on he wanted to live out his new style under the name RAF 3.0. The self-titled album, which was released in 2012, was actually a change in style, but still achieved high positions in the German charts.
In July of the same year, Raf announced to release a new street album under the old name Raf Camora. The mixtape therapy after death, which was published in September 2012, ensured the artist a safe comeback under a new name.
In January 2013, Raf Camora took the next step and founded his own label called Indipendenza. In July of the same year, Raphael Ragucci released his second studio album called Hoch 2 under the name RAF 3.0, which again had great success in the charts.
In 2014 an album followed, which had emerged from a collapse with Chakuza and was awarded an Amadeus Award.
In 2015, Raf Camora announced an artistic break, which ended in 2016 with the release of his fourth solo album. In the same year the album Palmen aus Plastik, which was created with Bonez MC, was also released.
A year later, in August 2017, Raf Camora released his fifth solo album Antrazit. At the same time, he was working on a second collaberation album, Palmen aus Plastik 2, which was released in October 2018.
Career highlights
The highlights of Raf Camora’s career are largely awards that he won mostly in 2016 after his breakthrough. These included important awards such as best national Group, the hiphop.de Awards and Best National Album at the Juice Awards, both in 2016.
For Raf Camora personally, the biggest success was his breakthrough in Austria.
Although the artist repeatedly mentions his hometown in his songs, he remains unknown in Austria for a long time, something that personally affected him. In the meantime, however, he is also known in his homeland and gave a sold-out concert in the Wiener Stadthalle at the end of 2019. The accompanying tour was one of his great successes.
Famous quotes
RAF Camora – Adriana lyrics album: ZENIT
She rarely goes to a party and if she does, she is the most beautiful in the club
Let them drive in the Ferrari and I swear, brother, everyone looks
Just want her, no one else, Kylie Jenner is a bitch for her
We look at each other, understand each other silently, one look, one thought

I’ve been doing what I’ve been dreaming of since nine-eight
When my competitors weren’t even conceived
Success tips
Raf Camora never made a secret of the fact that his early youth was difficult and riddled with various setbacks.
Many of his friends were in prison at the time, were deported or experienced other setbacks that drove them further into the spiral of crime and the Viennese underworld. Raf has said several times about himself that at that time he made the choice not to let himself get down, but to deal with his problems in music. He found the music as an outlet for his anger and grief and thus with authentic lyrics to success and recommends exactly that to others.
