Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov has explained the decision on resignation of the head of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatyev. According to him, the manifested actions Ignatieff to people indicate the contempt of the people.
“We really saw was not very pretty, rather, very ugly events. The President has repeatedly said that any manifestation of disrespect to the people from the government is unacceptable. And in his eyes is something absolutely unacceptable,” Peskov told the TV channel “Russia-1”.
Ignatieff has twice appeared in the centre of the scandal. 18 January, he apologized for the call “wet” critics of the government journalists. The former head of the Chuvash Republic explained that meant people who call themselves journalists, but pursue a single goal – to discredit the government.
