Short introduction

Olexesch is a German rapper of Ukrainian and Belarusian origin from Darmstadt. He works under a contract with the Frankfurt label 385idéal. Olexesh, based in Darmstadt, started the album charts. His debut album was released in March 2014 and only two years later his clip “Magisch feat. Edin ”with over 60 million views voted the most popular music video on the German YouTube charts. And this despite the fact that the street rapper, which is known in other cases for its complicated subjects, is merged with seemingly bizarre pop music. He showed his willingness to experiment when he published the song “Wir 2 immer 1” with the pop singer Vanessa May. After four albums that made it into the top ten, the Ukrainian rapper became an integral part of the German rap landscape.

Early life

Olexesh spent his first six years in Kiev. His father is Belarusian, his mother is Ukrainian. His father immigrated to the United States when Alex was two years old. At the age of six, Olexesh moved to Germany with his mother. At first he lived in the Kelkheim area, later he went to the city of Darmstadt, where he spent his youth – at least for the most part. During his apprenticeship in a special school, the desire for rap arose.

Career

The Frankfurt rap duo Celo & Abdi, especially rapper Celo, heard about Olexesh and signed it with 385ideal, and released the first Authentic Athletic Mixtape on December 2, 2012. Olexesh released his very first “Nu eta da” studio album with Fard, Eko Fresh, Gzuz, Karate Andi and Celo & Abdi on March 7th, 2014. On September 25th, 2015 the second album Street Cocktail will be released as a mixtape. In addition to his usual style, Olexesh added a bit of G-Funk to this release. The third studio album “Makadam” was released on October 21, 2016. Musically, Olexesh is a tough street rapper. His style is aggressive and choppy. The themes of his songs are street life, poverty, crime, drug use, gambling and prostitution. Inspired by West Coast Hip Hop, G-Funk and French rap.

Olekesh brought the hope of a better life to Germany with his mother from Ukraine over 20 years ago. Today, Alexei Kosarev, based in Darmstadt, is one of the most successful rappers in the country. With his Nu Eta Da debut, he entered the top ten of the album charts in 2014, finished fifth with two records in the past few years and played two full-house tours in Germany, while the stage media paid tribute to the Razor Flow . Olexesh, who grew up in Kranichstein, was anxiously awaiting the release of his third album: Macadam. The record is dedicated to his mother and the Darmstadt district, which is characterized by multi-story residential complexes – and is likely to be one of the most important German hip-hop albums of the previous years.

Frankfurt rapper Celo from Rapduo Celo & Abdi learned about Olexesh. After signing with her 385 label, he finished his first Mixtape Authentic Athletic, which was released on December 2, 2012 for free download on the Internet. It has almost 30 tracks that he records on hip-hop instrumental beats from the West Coast. Some time later, Olexesh became known to a wide audience after working with an arrest warrant and Mosh36 on his BZ mixtape for the rapper’s block platinum album. The advent of online television in German rap format has also contributed to over 200,000 downloads of the Mixtapes Authentic Athletic. He was also allowed to accompany Celo & Abdi on their backyard jargon tour.

His album Rolexesh was released on March 2, 2018 and took first place in the German album charts. On July 6, 2018, the rapper released a song with pop singer Vanessa May. The name “Wir 2 immer 1” first broke the line between the different music genres.

Musically Olexesh presents a hard street rap. His rap style is aggressively volatile. The themes of his songs are street life in Kranichstein-Darmstadt, crime, poverty, gambling addiction, drug use and prostitution.
