In Russia there are three drugs, which theoretically can be applied for treatment of the disease COVID-19, claims Vice President, head of section, biomedical Sciences academician Vladimir Chekhonin.
According to him, a few years ago at the Institute of organic synthesis named RAS Ural branch of RAS were able to create antiviral triazavirin. Already, many Chinese experts see it as a means for the treatment of coronavirus infection.
Chekhonin stressed that it is ready a special, inhaled form of the drug. The medication can pass to the test in institutions.
he Also recalled the drug, formerly developed in Japan for the treatment of infections caused by so-called RNA viruses. According to him, Russia has developed the synthesis of this antiviral drug.
Chekhonin told about another drug. It was once created on the platform of the National centre of epidemiology and Microbiology named Gamalei, together with the Institute of organic chemistry-based drug fosprenil. It is used to treat coronavirus infections in animals.
