14 Sep 2008 over Perm crashed airliner “Boeing-737”. Among the other passengers on Board were the Hero of Russia, General Gennady Troshev. So ridiculous ended the life of the “trench General” held the whole Chechen war.

Gennady was born 14 March 1947 in Berlin, in the family of a Soviet military pilot Nikolay trosheva. Shortly after the boy’s birth the family returned home. The Genes passed his childhood in the Caucasus, in Grozny. His father died in ‘ 43, and mother Nadezhda one pulled three children.
After school Gennady entered the Kazan higher tank command school: the cadets were on full state support, and the mother had to raise two younger daughters… Then he graduated from the Military Academy of armored troops and the Military Academy of the General staff.
Serve had in his native North Caucasus military district. Career rapidly went up the hill: by 1994, Troshev was the commander of the army corps. During the First Chechen war he commanded the 58th army, and then led a United group of troops, receiving the rank of Lieutenant General. After the end of hostilities he became Deputy commander of North Caucasus military district.
Since August 1999, during the counterterrorist operation in the North Caucasus, Troshev commanded the Federal troops, who fought with militants on the territory of Dagestan. Then stood at the head of the group “East”, and in April 2000, already in the rank of Colonel, he headed the combined Federal forces in the North Caucasus. Until December 2002 he commanded the Squaw.

About General Troshev was legendary. So, he could not sleep for days, sharing with his subordinates all the hardships of military life (the soldiers lovingly called him “bather”). Personally overflew the area of the fighting by helicopter, and in the battle for Argun give commands from the air, from the window. Somehow in the fog, the helicopter almost hit a high voltage line, and only the skill of the pilot Alexander Dziuba, past Afghanistan, saved the life of a commander. Another time the General’s helicopter was shot down, and he sat down on a cemetery. But no one was hurt.
Troshev tried where they could to avoid bloodshed. Group “East” was often able to take towns without a fight. For the operation in Dagestan and courage during the hostilities in Chechnya, the General was awarded the title of Hero of Russia. The award was presented personally by President Boris Yeltsin.
unlike other colleagues, Gennady Troshev was open to the press, wrote several books about events in Chechnya, the most famous of which – “My war. The Chechen diary of a trench General” (2001).
In December 2002 Troshev received a new assignment to head the Siberian military district. And this after so many years of his life and career were devoted to the Caucasus! The General has resigned. In February 2003 he was appointed Advisor to the President, was in charge of the Cossacks. It was said that it was not just. They say that the General is seriously guilty: his name was associated with the death of the legendary sixth company of 90 commandos encountered on the way two groups of militants who tried to break into the area of the Argun gorge. But this is only speculation, no direct evidence.

23 Jun 2008 Gennady Troshev was awarded the order “For merits before Fatherland” IV degree for his great contribution to the activities of the President of the Russian Federation and many years of public service.
on the night of 14 September of the same year Gennady went to Perm on tournament on Sambo. “Boeing-737” carrying out flight 821, which he was flying, when landing, fell on the railroad tracks. The debris scattered on the area in four touadratic kilometers. All who were on Board, 82 passengers and 6 crew members were killed. Later it turned out that in blood of the commander of the crew Rodion Medvedev found ethyl alcohol.
At the funeral of General trosheva attracted thousands of people from across the country. His name called the streets in six Russian cities, and in Krasnodar, a monument to the legendary commander.
meanwhile, there are rumors that the crash was not accidental. Supposedly, the pilot Medvedev before flying passed the examination, and no alcohol there wasn’t really… There’s even a version of that on Board the “Boeing” was applied the newest kind of paralyzing weapon. But why? Who planned this? And whether the operation is aimed against General Troshev? While all this just another unsubstantiated “conspiracy theory”.
