Numerous members of the Pentecostal church in Bremerhaven were infected with Covid-19 during their services.
A total of 20 believers were tested positive for the corona virus, 43 other members of the church had to be quarantined. The crisis team in Bremerhaven fears that many more corona infected people will be added in the coming days. 150 participants took part in the fateful "Corona Service" of the Free Gospel Christian Community.
More cases feared
Three new cases were confirmed in the parish on Thursday, spokesman Volker Heigenmooser said. There are twelve in the Cuxhaven district. The first five corona infected were identified on Tuesday. "We cannot rule out that numerous other cases will occur," says Heigenmooser. The community located in Schierholz has between 800 and 1000 members.
Health department employees are currently trying to contain the scouts' contact routes as reconstruction scouts. Since numerous members of the community come from the district, the Bremerhaven Health Department works closely with colleagues in Cuxhaven. The patient one, from whom everything started, could not be identified so far.
