The August 2008 war with Georgia became one of the most notable events of the presidency of Dmitry Medvedev. According to the official Russian version, the reason for the conflict was the Georgian attack on South Ossetia. Georgian military immediately after start of the operation said that they wanted to "stop shooting", leading from the side of Tskhinvali, in the Georgian villages. What actually provoked the war?

According to the UN Charter the use of outer space for military purposes is strictly prohibited. However, in past projects the establishment of military bases of space appeared on both sides of the ocean. One of the first such projects was the so-called space cannon Hitler.

Looking at pictures of this sweet smiling woman, it's hard to believe that it was nicknamed the "witch of Buchenwald" and "Frau Shade" and that she is guilty of sophisticated mockeries and murder of tens of thousands of people. But nevertheless it is so.

Soviet Marshal Pavel Batitsky, even in old age impressed interlocutors with his "thunderous voice". They called him the "best commander of the defense" in the country's history. In 1953, Batitsky played a prominent role in the liquidation of Lavrenty Beria – he was executed by sentence of the chief of the NKVD, for which he later was favored by Khrushchev and Brezhnev. Much less is known about the merits of Batitsky in the period of the great Patriotic war – for example, that a star of Hero of the Soviet Union, awarded to him in 1965, Marshall was to receive back in 1943.

Even during the great Patriotic war, the Soviet Union had ceased to trade with other countries – war is war, and to replenish the state Treasury and to somehow keep the economy afloat is still needed. Exports were precious metals, forest products industry, building materials and tobacco, which the USSR gladly buy USA, UK and Iran. However, delivery was not only on the West, the allies, and East to Japan, which fought on the side of Nazi Germany.
