From 2006, Bodo Schäfer founded the successful Finanzttrieb Reintgen & Schäfer invest GmbH in cooperation with Bernd Reintgen. After the business operations of Finanzvertrieb Reintgen & Schäfer invest GmbH were transferred to the new Bodo Schäfer Akademie GmbH in 2014, he continued to operate this company alone.

Also in 2000, Bodo Schäfer founded the non-profit foundation Children – Our Future, which is based in Bergisch Gladbach. The two partners Badma Baasansuren and Bodo Schäfer act as board members of the foundation. This foundation has been recognized by the Ministry of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia and aims to promote the education and upbringing of young people and children, with a particular focus on orphans. The affected children and adolescents are supported by mentors who support them in developing their own goals and perspectives. Another task of the foundation is to work directly with the aid organization Deutsche Welthungerhilfe to build schools and training centers on the African continent.
