the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) plans to monitor the process of amending the Constitution of the Russian Federation, and also reminds Russia about the responsibilities to implement the decisions of the European court of human rights (ECHR), reports TASS.
“the Assembly invites the monitoring Committee to follow closely the process of amending the Constitution, which now goes to the Russian Federation, and clearly underlines the obligation of each member state to implement the decisions of the European court of human rights”, – stated in the draft resolution of PACE about the credentials of the delegation from Russia.
in addition, according to the document, the monitoring Committee must submit a full report on this issue in the near future.
Earlier it was reported that on January 23, the State Duma in the first reading unanimously adopted the Russian President Vladimir Putin a bill to amend the Constitution. The second reading of the document, as stated by the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, could be held on February 11. He also noted that to amend the Constitution ran no plans.
in addition, it is reported that the second reading will be discussed 17 amendments to the bill on amendments to the Constitution, which entered the state Duma Committee on state construction and law.
