the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved a draft on amendments to the agreement with Russia on gas supplies, reports TASS with reference to the document.
“to Approve the draft Protocol on amending the agreement between the government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Russian Federation on the formation of prices (tariffs) in the supply of natural gas to Belarus and its transportation via gas pipelines located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus of 25 November 2011 as the basis for negotiations”, – stated in the document.
Lukashenka Also instructed the government to hold talks on the draft Protocol, allowing to make it not a fundamental character change.
Earlier the President of Belarus has urged Russia to calm down and return to normal relations. He stressed that Moscow still remains Minsk’s main ally. Belarus does not want to compete with Russia and to return to “normal, friendly and brotherly” relations based on mutually beneficial terms.
He added that he feels bad about the situation, because the Minsk interacts well with many countries, including in the economic sphere.
Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko said that Russia squeezes Belarus, however, the independence of the country provide the West and NATO. According to him, Russia could be drawn into a military conflict.
