Hall without an audience

Tomorrow Thursday (May 21st, 8:15 pm live on ProSieben) the 15th “Germany’s next top model” will be chosen. The winner can be seen on the cover of the German “Harper’s Bazaar”, receives a contract with the agency ONEeins fab and wins 100,000 euros. This year, the finale will have a different coat of paint than in previous shows, in which Heidi Klum (46) celebrated her winner with cheers from the audience in a large hall. Here you can find all information about the special showdown.

Premiere at “GNTM”: The final had already started for the finalists before the show on Thursday: Jacky (21), Lijana (24), Sarah (20) and Maureen (20) were presented last Friday during a performance in “Sat. 1-Frühstücksfernsehen ”surprised with a video message from Heidi Klum from Los Angeles and then had to do a final shoot with Christian Anwander on a boat on the Spree. In addition to this premiere, the up-and-coming models have to cope with even more innovations compared to the final last year.

Due to the corona pandemic and the associated safety regulations, the live show must take place without an audience. In addition, Heidi Klum (46) will not be able to be physically present for the first time: Due to travel difficulties, the model mom is stuck in her adopted home of Los Angeles. Therefore, she had to choose this year’s winner live from the USA via video. To date, the finale has only been produced in the very first “GNTM” season without an audience in a studio with invited guests, but this was a recording.

“Unfortunately I cannot travel to Berlin. So we had to think of something else to put together an exciting and entertaining finale for my finalists and for the fans, despite the pandemic, ”said Klum in a statement. This year it is about nuances and although she is supposedly far away and will watch live from Los Angeles, she will “not miss anything”. The Austrian finalists also had travel problems: “It was a disaster,” Maureen explains in the ProSieben interview . After her arrival in Berlin, she was put in quarantine with colleague Sarah. “We weren’t allowed to see each other. It was all very tiring. ”

What can the audience expect in the finale of a different kind? “There is dancing again, it is not over yet,” reveals Maureen. As the first show act of the evening, over 50 artists from the “Vivid Grand Show” will be able to be admired in a lavish cabaret program. “We are part of a big dance, that was a special challenge,” reveals Jacky, who will perform in a futuristic costume together with her colleagues and the professional dancers. In the past few weeks, the young models have had to show dances à la Pussycat Dolls in challenges and in “Let’s Dance” manner on the “GNTM” stage.

In addition, numerous guests such as ex-candidates Klaudia Giez (23), Micaela Schäfer (36) will be in the television studio, where the final of the most successful “GNTM” season with safety margin and with a reduced production team will take place for eight years. , Theresia Fischer (28), Gisele Oppermann (32) and semi-finalist Tamara (19), who will put the finalists to the test.

Model and presenter Rebecca Mir (28) presents the Personality Award. The models also have to score points in a first walk with individual looks, in which they receive support from choreographer Nikeata Thompson (39), and a second in the creations of designer Philipp Plein (42). Star photographer Christian Anwander and “GNTM” veteran Thomas Hayo (51) also have tasks for the models.

But who will take the title home in the end? “I have made great progress and I am passionate about it, that is my passion”, Sarah explains her claim to the title. “I love standing in front of the camera and taking on roles, but never forgetting myself,” explains Jacky. “I want to show the audience that it is worth staying strong and believing in yourself and living your dream”, Lijana shows combative. “My goal is to redefine the word ‘diversity’ and to show that you don’t have to be the tallest or the thinnest to achieve something,” Maureen emphasizes.

The Austrians Sarah and Maureen even have a common plan after the final: regardless of which of them wins the title, they want to move to Germany and found a flat share in Cologne or Hamburg, as they reveal in the ProSieben Talk. Lijana would like to continue her anti-cyberbullying campaign “Love Wins” with ex-colleague Larissa (20). And Jacky already knows what she will do with the prize: “I am a savings man, I will put it aside.”
