Corona researchers spied on: FBI warns of a brazen attack on China!

China appears to have started cyber espionage targeting businesses and institutions working on drugs and vaccines against Covid-19.

There have been attempts by Chinese hackers to identify and steal “valuable intellectual property and public health data,” the FBI reports in an explosive press release. Relations between the United States and China are currently frosty. US President Trump blames China for the US corona pandemic and threatens to break diplomatic ties.

The cyberattack was aimed primarily at data relating to the coronavirus, treatments and vaccines. The FBI says literally, “The potential theft of this information jeopardizes the provision of safe, effective, and efficient treatment options.”

That is why the FBI and the US cybersecurity agency CISA are asking relevant research organizations to prepare their digital infrastructure for such attacks, to find and fix weaknesses in the system.

In addition, any unauthorized access, any abnormal behavior should be reported directly to the authorities.
