Short introduction

Marcus Prinz von Anhalt is a German businessman and nightclub owner whose luxurious lifestyle leads to some coverage in the German yellow press.

Early life

Prince of Anhalt was born on December 20, 1966 in Pforzheim to a wealthy family as Marcus Frank Adolf Eberhardt. Prince of Anhalt claims that his parents owned a jewelry store before their business was declared bankrupt and the family lost large amounts of their wealth. Eberhardt held many jobs at the age of 13 and left school at the age of 16 to complete an apprenticeship as a butcher. He founded a cleaning service, which was a subsidiary of the butcher, and received a total income of DM 6,000 at the age of 16. He completed further training as a cook, opened several restaurants and started an interior design business.

Career

Eberhardt has further diversified his organization by opening several table dance bars and gentlemen’s clubs in the United States. He later bought several brothels and was nicknamed “Red Light King”. After this investment, Eberhardt was charged with money laundering, tax fraud and human trafficking.

With over twenty brothels and night clubs, it is one of the largest and most visible brothel owners in Germany. He has served four years in prison for human trafficking and tax evasion. He claims to be a “triple digit” millionaire who owns about 40 cars and real estate in Los Angeles (a villa in Bel Air that he shares with Zsa Zsa Gabor and Frédéric Prince of Anhalt), Fort Lauderdale, Pforzheim, St. Gallen, Dubai and Monaco owns, and has 12 bodyguards and 25 servants.

In 2006, he bought his name for several million US dollars when he was adopted by Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, the husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, who had received his name through adoption. The adoption and the change of name did not confer an actual title or nobility. “Prince of Anhalt” is a surname (literally: Prince of Anhalt) and not a title under the German laws with which the former nobility of the country was abolished in 1919. In addition, the Anhalt family does not include Marcus Prinz von Anhalt as a member. He likes to call himself “Prinz Germany”. His adopted brothers include Oliver Prinz von Anhalt, Michael Prinz von Anhalt and Markus Maximilian Prinz von Anhalt. His adoptive sister is Francesca Hilton, the stepdaughter of his adoptive father and the born daughter of his adoptive mother. In 2008 he organized the “Royal Race”, a tour with expensive cars and prominent drivers through Europe. Pamela Anderson was his partner in the race. In February 2009, he was seen having lunch with her in Los Angeles. When Zsa Zsa Gabor lost a substantial amount to Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi program in 2009, he helped with a check for $ 6 million.

Career highlights

In November 2014, Marcus Prinz von Anhalt was again sentenced to prison. Prince von Anhalt was imprisoned for two years during the appeal against the judgment. The 4-year prison sentence was based on charges of tax evasion and tax fraud. The public prosecutor had accused Prince of Anhalt of tax evasion of 1.5 million euros. The prosecutor had provided an estimate of the financial damage to the tax authorities by arresting 747,000 euros and another attempt at tax evasion of 820,000 euros. In particular, the Anhalt public prosecutor alleged that he had declared the private use of his 14 luxury cars (with a total value of at least 1 million euros) and vacations in Las Vegas as professional and business expenses for the tax authorities. Von Anhalt argued that “his glamorous lifestyle” was part of his job as a “TV star”, which is why he only used and explained his luxury cars for “representative” reasons: driving in my Porsche, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce and traveling to a show in Las Vegas had only professional reasons. Von Anhalt also tried to convince the judge and the public prosecutor that it must have been unintentional if he had committed tax evasion because he did not fully understand German tax laws at the time. “I know that German tax laws are extremely complicated and maybe even the most complicated in the world.” Some people can understand German tax laws, but he’s not one of them; but he knows how to successfully manage a brothel. The judges did not believe in Anhalt’s statements and subsequently imposed a four-year prison sentence. Von Anhalt previously stated that “he sees no crime in his case” and that the amounts he claims to have taken from the tax authorities are “petty” and “ridiculous” considering that “his brothels” and disco- Clubs generate double-digit millions in revenue.
