Rolf Eden was born in Berlin in February 1930. His real name was Rolf Sigmund Sostheim, he has a brother. The Jewish family had to emigrate as early as 1933. At 14, Eden made his living as a musician after leaving school. He fought under Jitzhak Rabin in the first Arab war. All of his comrades were shot.
