Mario Götze is a German soccer player who caused a sensation right at the beginning of his career. At the age of 24, he had already won five championships, three DFB trophies and a world championship.

Early life

Mario Götze was born in 1992 to Astrid and Jürgen Götze in Allgäu, where he spent his early childhood. His first club was the SC Ronsberg in Ostallgäu.

After his father received a research grant in the United States, the family lived in Houston, Texas for a year and a half. In 1997 the move to Dortmund followed. Here Götze initially played for Hombrucher SV.

He then continued his career at Borussia Dortmund, where he went through all of the junior departments. With the A-Junior team, he reached the final of the DFB-Junior Club Cup as well as that of the German A-Youth Championship in 2008/09. Although Götze and his team were unable to win either of the two finals, he was honored with the golden Fritz Walter medal in the U17 age group.

In addition to football, Götze obtained his technical college entrance qualification at high school.

Career

In the 2009/10 season, Mario Götze made his debut at the Borussia Dortmund professional team at the age of 17. He scored his first Bundesliga goal in August 2010 against VFB Stuttgart. In his first European League game in September 2010, he scored two goals for the success of Borussia in So he managed to earn a regular place in the team later in the season.

At the end of the season Götze had six goals and sixteen assists. In the following two seasons Götze won the championship with Borussia. In the 2012/13 season, he made it into the Champions League final with the BVB team.

For the 2013/14 season Götze switched to Bayern Munich for 37 million euros. He scored his first competitive goal for Munich in the Champions League group stage against Viktoria Pilsen. The first Bundesliga followed against Hertha BSC. Already on the 27th matchday, the Bavarians were determined as champions, something that no team had yet achieved. The DFB Cup also went to Munich. Despite all the successes, Mario Götze was unable to secure a permanent place at Bayern due to repeated injuries, which is why he returned to Borussia Dortmund in the 2016/2017 season.

After the change, Götze had to deal with protracted injury problems, which made it difficult for him to establish himself in the starting eleven of the Borussia.
