Yvonne Catterfeld is a German actress and singer, who has played the role of Julia Blum in the television series “Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten” since 2001. Her musical breakthrough came in 2003 with the single “Für Dich”. In the same year, she hosted “The Dome”, her first major television show. Her film career began in 2010 with the leading role in the SAT.1 family drama “The Shepherd’s Wife”.
Yvonne Catterfeld was dating the actor Wayne Carpendale from 2004 to 2007 and since 2008 also with an actor colleague, Oliver Wnuk, with whom she also has a son.
Early life
Yvonne Catterfeld was born on December 2, 1979 in Erfurt. Her father was an industrial welder and her mother was a high school teacher. At the age of 15 she started taking piano, guitar, drama, ballet and singing lessons. After graduating from high school, she studied jazz and pop music at the Leipzig Academy of Music for two years and founded her first band “Jamtronic”. During this time she took part in the singing competition “Vote 2000”, achieved second place there and was contracted by Thomas Stein (BMG Germany). Her first singles “Come back to me”, “Nobody else” and “Feelings” received little attention.
Career
Finally, Dieter Bohlen produced the single “Für Dich”, which finally made Yvonne Catterfeld famous throughout Germany. This was followed by engagements as opening act for Modern Talking, Nena and Mariah Carey.
After her exit from the series “Gute Zeiten, bad Zeiten” in 2004, further acting engagements followed, such as the telenovela “Sophie – bride against will”.
From 2010 the singer and actress took new paths. She experimented with her musical direction, the album “Blau in Blau” received little attention from the population. Also the album “Best of – From Beginning to Now” from 2011 was not placed on a chart. At the same time, Yvonne Catterfeld concentrated on her acting career and made the film “The Girl on the Sea Bed” about the diving pioneers Lotte and Hans Hass.
From 2013, her acting career began to gain momentum internationally. Among other things, she starred in the Russian film “The Land of Good Children” and a French production of the fairy tale “The Beauty and the Beast”. Her singing career also got new impulses and the album “Lieber so” entered the charts in eighth place in 2015.

In seasons 6 – 8, Yvonne Catterfeld was coach of the casting show “The Voice of Germany”. In November 2016 she received the gold record for more than 100,000 copies of her album “Lieber so”.
In the same year she founded her own record label called “Veritable Records”, under whose name she also released her seventh album in 2017, which was called “Guten Morgen, Freiheit!” bears, published.
Since December 2016 she has played the role of police commissioner Delbrück in the ARD crime series “Wolfsland”.
She also starred in various well-known German cinema and television productions, such as the hit movie “Keinohrhasen” and the successor “Zweiohrküken”, in “Tatort” and “SOKO” episodes, or as a voice actress in “Große Haie – Kleine Fisch” “Witch Lilli ”or“ Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy ”.
