In October Boris demanded to voluntarily return to the rebel-held buildings, surrender their weapons, to hold a referendum and elections. October 27 in the country and in fact was organized by the election of the Executive Committee of the NCCP, the President and the Parliament, but they were recognized by Moscow illegal. Over time, the opposition of Dudayev increased, and the position of General was not as durable. By the summer of 1994, the situation in Chechnya has stabilized a bit.
Failed meeting
Then Boris Yeltsin decided it was time to solve the Chechen problem. Shaimiev suggested that the articles with hard-hitting statements of Dzhokhar Dudayev deliberately placed in Newspapers: not all wanted Yeltsin talked with the General, and especially concluded with some agreement. However, Dudayev indeed more than once openly insulted Yeltsin.
